The Return of Elder Frankenstein
This week Elder Donan had his surgery and was in the hospital from Monday until Saturday. President Hughes decided he wanted me to stay in the area because he did not want both the zone leaders absent all week. My companion for the week was Elder Alcazar. The surgery was successful and his recover should be speedy.
This week was an interesting week with having Elder Alcazar as my companion. I have enjoyed going out and mapping with him and also getting some time in our area. Most of all we are grateful for the safety and health of Elder Donan. Our entire zone fasted and prayed for his safe operation and God heard our prayers. I want to personally thank you for taking care of my companion and for ministering to him. It is amazing how your love can be felt individually to each missionary, and that is what I want to apply to the zone.
In our ward we have an Elder's Quorum President who is a very effective leader and was a very effective missionary. I have been questioning him to find his process and see what I can apply as a leader in the mission. Currently, I have a greater drive to go the extra mile. While I do feel like I have had a successful mission so far, I know realize there is so much more I can give. I do not just want give a good effort, but I want to give more than expected. This transfer is a perfect opportunity to do so with Elder Cacayuran. He is a diligent missionary with a lot of integrity. This will be the time where I find more synergy in my companionship.
This week was also the baptism of the Morcillo Family which was the first baptism in this area since last year. We have been praying hard and working even harder for this family. They have been the focus of my attention this transfer. Their example and dedication to living according to Christ's will has been a great example to me. Sister Morcillo said that she has found the missing piece in her life because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and has guided her family onto the path.
Elder Donan wanted so bad to make it to the baptism and we prayed he would make it. The hospital kept on extending his stay so we did think he would make it... but last minute he walked in and it was another tender mercy of the Lord.
I am now on cleaning duty for his neck. He has the most ASTIG (awesome) scar and he looks like Frankenstein. So for the next couple of days that is what we refer him as. I love that man.. haha
Since we came straight from the hospital I did not bring my camera.. so next week I will bring pictures!
Transfers are this week and I am excited for the new challenges and opportunities. There are many new techniques we will be trying. Have a great week.
Elder Cadayong
