High Goals and New Transfer
How's it going? Alrighty what even happened this week? Every week having the opportunity to look back on what happened helps me to evaluate on what was truly important.
This week at Halloween and All Souls day we had a curfew at 6 pm to "keep us safe." Nothing too much really happened but it was a good opportunity to call each of the companionships in the zone and welcome them to the Promised Land of Fairview! I really do love this zone and this area. We are excited to see what will happen these next two transfers. We had the opportunity to look back on this last transfer and what exactly happened. Our productivity as a zone has gone down so Elder Quilloy and I have come up with some new ideas to spark the energy in the zone. Our goal is to be literally the best zone in the world! In September we were the top in the Philippines for Baptisms but we are not satisfied. This month of November will be an important stepping stone to hit our goal in December. With God's help, nothing is impossible. We must set high goals to hit our potential and then make plans to accomplish it. We are not perfect but we will do our best.
This week we wanted to make our role as zone leaders more personable. I remember a couple transfers ago when I felt like the zone leaders were so far away and had little communication at all. We want to have a more hands-on approach. Our plans are to rotate around the zone and do studies with a different companionships every week. This will help us grow closer as a zone and also will hopefully be a guide for the many trainees we have in the zone. The most difficult thing as a trainee is adjusting to the schedule, rules, and most of all the language. We are making language study plans to help these new missionaries learn as quickly as possible.
One miracle this week was when we met a girl named Mercy. We have been praying so hard to find more people that God is preparing for the missionaries and this week we ran into Mercy. As we were walking home we saw her and starting talking. She actually just moved into the area and has been going to church for the past three weeks and wants to be baptized to December! God works in mysterious ways.
The other day in the middle of the night our smoke alarm started going off even though there was no smoke. I stumbled out of bed and tried to disassemble the alarm before our neighbors woke up. It was really hard to figure it out so I decided to put it into the fridge so the sound was absorbed. Why was it so difficult to turn it off? Oh yeah, I could not see... then I realized I was not even wearing glasses! Yeah I was so tired I did not even notice.
Earlier today I tried a burger challenge. If I ate the burger and the fries under 5 minutes I got it for free! I did not realize how big the burger really was. I WAS SO CLOSE! But I still have a long ways to go. I just wanted to get my picture on the wall.
Till next week!
