Teaching my Family Members and the Fatal Mistake

The Fairview zone is having great success with baptisms! I am so excited to work with these great missionaries. While they are seeing success, most of the companionship are feeling very stressed out. As zone leaders we are trying out best to keep these missionaries happy and loving the work at the same time with finding success. They are in my prayers every night and we are doing everything we can for them.

On our way home from our last appointment one day, we ran into my Aunt Alma. I only met her once in my lifetime so I was very surprised when I heard someone on the street calling me Aaron. As missionaries, we usually are not called by our first names. Alma let us in to their house and I got to see my cousins. After talking to them for a while and reminiscing on our trip to Palawan in 2016, we got to share a short message of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They are all pretty set in their religion but I felt it my duty as a Representative of Jesus Christ to share with them the truth that I have come to know. We gave them a Book of Mormon and challenged them to read. I truly felt the Spirit guiding me this entire time. As hard as we can try to share the gospel, people have to open their hearts to accept it. We can do all we can. HOWEVER, as spiritually uplifting as this occasion was, I ended with a prayer in the house. One of my cousins friends was there and I messed up his name when I prayed for them. When I said the wrong name, everyone started laughing and I was not sure why. After we left my companion told me that the name that I said... was actually a very very inappropriate word in Tagalog that I did not know.. So that is embarrassing haha! There goes the spirit... that was the fatal mistake.

We also had a baptism this week! It was a wonderful service and I was inspired by the faith of these five children of God. However... our ward mission leader forgot that he left the water on, and after we came back inside from taking pictures, the whole church started flooding. We ran inside and did our best to push all the water out. It was definitely one of the most interesting baptisms I have ever had... haha. Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures this week of that baptism.

There are so many little experiences that happen every single day that have such a big impact on my life. Every little thing in life is a miracle. I am loving life here! Even though we are exhausted, we realize that exhaustion is good. It means we are working hard. Have a great week!
