Romana's Baptism, Miracles, and Last week in Malabon & Navotas
Well it is officially my last week here in Malabon and Novatas ward. I am being transferred this next week to Batasan Hills 2nd Ward, Fairview. This is the ward where my cousins live and President told me that I have a relative who is currently being taught by the missionaries so he wants me to help teach them. President also told me that I am going to skip being a District Leader and go straight to being a Zone Leader.... Honestly I was not expecting this at all and I am nervous for this next transfer but I have faith that all will be alright as I rely on the Lord.
Because it was my last week, and the baptism of our beloved friend Sister Romana, and other things happened this week, we have TONS of pictures and things to share. I will do my best to cover everything that happened this week and explain the hundred pictures that I am sending.
Starting off with earlier this week, I gave my first workshop at district meeting. I was nervous for it but it went pretty well. I taught about how to teach with clarity, power, and relevance.
Our ward mission leader worked with us this week and he was waiting for us at Jolliebee. He did not realize we were here. We took the opportunity to take a candid picture of him. Ruzzel is a great guy and is always willing to dedicate everything to this work.
I met my favorite dog ever-Ella. Ella is the dog of one of our investigators and she just comes up to you, closes her eyes, and expects you to pet her. If you don't she gives you this funny look and starts poking you with her paw.
Since it was Sister Romana's Baptism we took a lot of pictures for her invitations and a gift we gave her. While we were at it we took a couple pictures of our companionship. Romana has been waiting to be baptized for almost two years and this last Saturday she finally entered into a covenant with God. I have never seen anyone so happy to be baptized before. She litterally invited everyone in her entire neighborhood to the baptism, and the crazy thing is almost 40 of her friends came! During her baptism, there were too many people to fit in our usual baptism room, so we had to move it to the Sacrament Hall. There were almost 80 in attendance and half of them were investigators. Then, after her baptism they all clapped (which is usually not what we do after a baptism but they did not know so it was alright). President Hughes was able to attend as well as the Assistants to the President. This was one of my favorite baptisms of all time :)
One day this week we also decided to go on a morning jog over to the ocean. While we were there we discovered a hill (like the only hill in the entire Caloocan) and we just had to go to the top. It was the greenest area I have seen in so long! It was nice to breath some fresh air and take some nice sunrise pictures. IT WAS A MIRACLE TO FIND THIS AMAZING PLACE!
Another miracle this week was a new investigator John D. He is the sibling of my recent convert Jazz and has the strongest desire to come unto Christ. In just two days he read 15 chapters of the Book of Mormon and prayed to know that it was true. The formula is truly simple. If you take time to read the Book of Mormon, you will know that it is true! Please, everyone. Read the Book of Mormon. Give it time to ponder and ask God if it is true. It will change your life.
Elder Lucana is going home! He was one of my favorite companions and I will always miss it when people called us David and Goliath since he is under 5 ft tall. He is going to do wonders in his next journey in life.
Found and caught a huge spider.
Many many pictures this week with my recent converts and other members that have had such a huge impact on my life. I will truly miss this wonder place that I call home.
My last P-day we went to this one island close to our area. We took some nice pictures as a district (minus Elder Lucana because he already left). Despite the trash, it is a nice change of scene to see the ocean. Our area is the only area to have the ocean.
Let's just say that life as a missionary is amazing. So many people have helped me to improve and to become more like Christ. I just hope I can leave an impact on others for the better.
Love you all and see you next week!
