Zone Conference

God is truly amazing. He knows exactly what we need for us to grow and improve, even when we ourselves do not understand it. An eternal perspective is important to find out where to find true happiness. What a time to be alive! I am so grateful for the opportunity to be serving a mission for the Lord and consecrate all my time, thoughts, and action to invite others to come to Christ. When I look at this life in the eternal perspective I know that this mission is right where I need to  be.

I was truly inspired this week because of our zone conference. There are amazing leaders in this mission to guide me to where I need to go. There were a multitude of impressions  that inspired me to improve. One of the specific focus that I want to incorporate into our area in Malabon and Navotas now. I felt an impression from the Lord that we are here to bring together families. We have some investigators whose fathers are severe alcoholics. Like I have never seen them sober, and I can see the effect that it has on their children. Since he is always drunk we have been hesitant to teach him. However after this conference we decided to go and teach him. Eventually he confessed to us that he sincerely wants to change and improve, and that he needs our help. It is such a tender moment when one humbly comes to Christ wanting to change. That is the beauty of the sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ. His hands are always outstretched for us to come unto him. And honestly, don't we all need to come to him? As it says in Mosiah 4 in the Book of Mormon, "Are we not all beggars?" This thought often enters my mind. Every single person on this earth needs the strength of the infinite Atonement.

I also need to help of the Atonement every day. There was one super embarrassing moment this week of one of my mistakes.... at Zone Conference we had a practice teaching. They picked two companionship to go up in front of everyone and practice teach about the Plan of Salvation. Elder Lucana and myself were chosen as the first "investigators." As they taught about Adam and Eve, they asked me a question in order to asses my knowledge of the Garden of Eden. In my response I said, "Kinain sila ng bunga," instead of "Kumain sila ng bunga..." I thought I was done making mistakes like that... the english translation of that is "The fruit ate them," instead of "They ate the fruit." As soon as I said those words I knew that I made a mistake and tried to fix it, but it was too late. Everyone at the conference had a jolly good laugh! Haha... everyone makes mistakes. Everyone has those days!

I truly love this work and this Gospel. I hope everyone has an amazing week!
