I fell into the Black Water
What a spectacular week! There have been so many miracles in my mission so far. I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to serve the Lord with all my heart, might, mind, and strength. Elder Lucana and I have been working hard to cover our two areas. We had some great success this week with our new investigators Evan, Anna, and Jazz! They are all in their twenties and have so many questions about religion. They are progressing very quickly! I have learned that the only thing that one really needs to start to gain a testimony of this gospel is desire. God knows that if you have the desire to learn and grow closer to Him, he will provide the way. As a missionary it is my responsibility to be a guide for others in their spiritual journey. I still have so much room to improve as a missionary and I am thankful everyday that God shows me my weaknesses and strengths so that I can become a more worthy disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ.
This week as we were heading to our first appointment of the day, there was some pretty bad flooding. It only rained for 15 minutes and there was no dry land in this skinita (like a small alleyway). The water is pretty bad due to the pollution. Like ninjas, Elder Lucana and I maneuvered our way to try and keep our feet dry. Right at the end of our parkour journey, I lost balance and my foot and leg were completely immersed into the black water. I could just feel all the odorous liquid travel between my toes. I was so close! All day my sock was wet. Despite the shaky start the day turned out well!
This week we also had exchanges with the zone leaders. This was the first time that I went out with an American and it was so strange. We had so many things to talk about! Our lessons as well flowed super well and I loved how much Elder Haight used the Book of Mormon in his lessons. The Book of Mormon is truly the word of God. If someone sincerely reads it, he will grow closer to our Heavenly Father.
Thats all for this week folks! I wish I had time to tell you all the crazy adventures that happen. Nevertheless thank you all for your support and prayers!
Elder Cadayong
