Caloocan is on the Rise
Well it has been quite the week here in Caloocan! The zone is working hard to share our testimonies to every person we meet. Caloocan is on the rise. This place just feels like home for me. We found a ton of dead rats this week too! It is always an adventure here. We got hit on by teenage girls, we saw a drunk man taking a nap in the street, and slipped into the black water. There is nothing like Caloocan.
We have been determined to find new people to teach. If you anything about missionary work you know that finding is one of the biggest struggles. We have information that can bless people's lives if they will just listen and apply. Sometimes we feel like doctors giving people medicine that will save their lives, but they reject. Even so we will not stop doing what we know to be true. This week we found and taught 19 new people. I know there are hundreds, if not thousands, of people asking questions such as, "Is there a God?" "How do I help my family though this challenge?" "Where is my love one who just died?" There are so many questions of the soul and people are just looking for the answer.
This week we took an extra effort to ask questions and get to know the people more first before jumping right into the lesson. I would hate to prescribe diabetes medicine for someone that has a broken foot. We must first listen, and listen genuinely.
My companion Elder Hough is a great example to me. I love the way that he listens intently. He just wants to understand each person and love them even more. I have made it a extra effort to increase my love through others by listening.
This week I also was able to go on exchanges in Malabon and Navotas and saw my previous areas. I miss it over there and I miss my old friends but I know the work must continue. Time flies by way too fast in the mission.
Okay byeeee
