MONTALBAN ZONE!
It is a whole new game out here in Montalban and I am excited for the challenge. It is completely different from what I have experienced in my other areas. This area is full of subdivisions which usually I have avoided because they are not as receptive to hear the truthfulness of the gospel, but now there is no choice. I am enjoying the adjustment. In previous areas it took me a lot longer to adjust but I feel more experienced, more competent, and more ready.
My new companion is Elder Donan from Bocolod, Philippines. He is an amazing teacher and in just a couple days I have learned so much from him. His teaching skills are amazing, and he loves using stories and personal experiences to teach. It really helps to connect to your investigators. I have been pondering what my purpose will be here in Montalban, and now I realize that in order for me to help those that only I can help, I will need to share more personal experiences and learn to be myself around all people, right away. Elder Donan is a convert to the church. He was baptized in 2015 and his testimony is great. I remember when I was younger being envious of the conversion stories of those around me. It sounds like such an amazing story to those around you. However, now I enjoy sharing the blessing that I have received growing up in this church. I feel so blessed to have grown up with a family that supported every righteous action. The biggest effect that I have felt is through reading the scriptures and praying as a family. I honestly did not realize how much of a feat this was until I started inviting others to do the same. Family is central to God's purpose and I am ready to find some families to be sealed together for all time and eternity. I know they are out here waiting, we just need to rely on the spirit and be bold.
We have an actual HOUSE! It was almost too surreal to have a house with room to walk around. The toilet has a TOILET SEAT, and the toilet FLUSHES! And I am saying goodbye to bucket showers, because we have a working shower. This is my first working shower in over a year.. haha. I kind of miss using the bucket though, I almost feel like I am wasting too much water now. Another highlight of this area is that we have kabahays (housemates). They are already becoming some of my best friends, and it adds a whole new dynamic to my daily schedule.
I want to testify that waking up early and having a routine changes your whole day. It is almost like running. If you are used to eating bananas before every race, but one time you try eating oatmeal instead, everything just goes off track. I AM BECOMING A MORNING PERSON!
That is all I got for this week, more will come next week!
