Daily Learning

What an amazing week! With this being the first week of the year I felt like a fresh start to my life. Bagong taon, bagong buhay (new life new me). The favorite new routine that I am doing is every morning, I wake up, pray, make my bed (yes mom I actually make my bed now haha), and I head straight to my journal. I review the previous day and write down the pinakamalaking natutunan (the biggest thing I learned). This daily evaluation has helped me to actually learn from my many daily mistakes. There have been too many times that I have failed, learned from it, then forgot the learning. I am determined to change the trajectory of my life. Here are some of my favorite lessons that I learned this week:

1) Self-pity and criticism is never beneficial
2) Humility is being true to yourself, to God, and to others

It is always interesting to find the perfect balance between humility and self-criticism. Humility is uplifting while self-criticism is destructive. It all comes from having an accurate perspective.

Some fun things this week: We ate dinner with Elder Perez an area seventy and I had lechon belly ( roasted stomach of the pig) for the first time! For new year's we had curfew so Elder Moralita and I decided to have a little bit of fun by playing chess and piso hockey. I got completely destroyed in chess...We also ate SO MUCH FOOD! #blessup

For P-day we went to Wawa Dam again with one of our districts, which is probably one of the most beautiful places in the mission. There was fresh air and mountains. I feel revived. Then we also went bowling at the mall with the other district! Honestly I just feel pretty exhausted from all the activities.

Most of all I keep feeling my Heavenly Father guiding us to more people that he wants to receive the gospel. The search will never stop, even when I get home from the mission. This week we had the largest number of investigators that attended our church service. Maybe it is our hard work.. but most likely it is just because our church schedule changed to 10 am so people can sleep in an extra 2 hours..

Alright my friends. Keep on loving and living.
