Maligayang Pasko!
Maligayang Pasko at Merry Christmas!
It is Christmas time and I love Christmas in the Philippines! I do not have too much time because of some things that are happening today, but I just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. This is such a special time of the year to Light the World with service and love. Christmas is such an important time to focus on the family. At this time I miss the snow and the family traditions but am willing to sacrifice that for missionary work, which is the highest priority in my life.
We had Christmas conference this week and we had a talent show at the end! We sang some songs and did a little skit and it was so much fun. It is always a little stressful trying to organize a group of people and I have so much more respect for Mrs. Urban, the musical director. I had no idea what I was doing but we all had a hoot and a half, so yeah, it was worth it.
This morning we played volleyball in the pouring rain and it was one of my most favorite memories in the mission. I love the simple parts of life! Earlier this week I saw an old nanay wearing a plastic bag on her head and I knew that I had to try it. That is a fun thing about the Philippines. When it rains, people will cover their head with anything that they have, rags, towels, backpacks, plastic bags, etc. While we played volleyball I had the stylish black bag to protect my head from the rain :)
Carline Bul-An was baptized this week! She is the smartest girl. As we taught her she would have so many comments and questions and just has the sweetest spirit. She is the child of a member family that was not yet baptized. She is such an example to me. It is amazing how much you can learn from every person around you.
We found so many potential investigators this week. It is amazing that when we set high goals and do all we can to fulfill it, God will lead us to the right direction. These next couple months will be great in this ward!
Our mission is being adjusted in July 2019! In 6 months a new mission will be created called the Antipolo mission. Three of the zones in this mission will be moving into a different mission, as well as all the missionaries assigned in that area. So I am not sure what exactly what will happen, but maybe in my 2 years I will be assigned to 2 missions!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO Y'ALL!
