The Rain Came Down and the Floods Came up

The rain came down and the floods came up! It has been raining a lot here in Malabon and Navotas and the flooding is continuous which makes the adventures even more audacious. I remember playing "The ground is lava" when I was a kid with my sisters and at times we are still trying to play it here. Elder Primero and I play (the flood is lava). There is this one alley way that leads to one of our progressing investigators houses that is always flooded even in the summer. They place these little wood things for people to step on so we do our best not to get wet socks. However we usually get to a point where there is no option so we have to enter the black waters. With the rising floods and the high winds, one of our investigator's houses that was built over the water collapsed. They tried to save as much stuff as they could, but we have been trying to help them out during this time. The strong rain has also prevented some members and investigators from going to church so we had a big decrease in church attendance, but this next week will be a better.

Two of our investigators just passed their baptismal interview so we should be having their baptism this week. Elder Primero and I are stoked because this will be Elder Primero's first baptism here in the mission. We have been working really hard recently so it is exciting to see the fruit of our labor. The first is Aila who we have been teaching every week since I came to Navotas four months ago (whoa has it been four months already?). Her understanding is very slow but she has such a strong desire to be baptized. God knows her desires and is going to be baptized! Our other investigator Albert is super solid. He is so willing to accept anything that God wants of him. Finally one of our other investigators Jazz loves having discussions with us missionaries. She told us that we should just stay at her house teaching her until the following day! She inspires me with her dedication to come unto Christ.

This week we also had Zone Conference and I was inspired by so many words. My favorite part was when one of our Assistants to the President talked about using our own personalities to bring others to Christ. I have my own set of skills and weaknesses and personality that is given to me from God to help those around me. I wish you could all listen to these conferences, the spirit is so strong.

Anyways the work here in Caloocan is great. I feel genuine happiness thanks to the strength that Christ gives me every single day. Have a great week!
