Pokemon Go, Rollercoaster Lines, and Baptism!

This week has been so eventful I cannot even remember everything that happened this week. Let's start
off with our new special project. We are fixing and mapping the membership record. We got our GPS units
and honestly this is one of the most fun things for me. It is pretty much like Pokemon Go! However instead
of finding Pokemon we are finding lost souls. We literally walk around searching for these members houses
in these mazes of alleyways. Since we are in what is called a Squatter area, there are really no addresses
here and no organized pathways. I always love a good challenging scavenger hunt :P. From this project we
have found many new blessings. A ton of new teaching opportunities, many chances to share the gospel to
random people, and a constant work out. It is like hiking all day long, except just in circles. But if you know me,
you know I love a good hike. Anywho, loving this project!

The rain continues. The flooding had officially come up to our knees so they had boats in the street to bring
people to where they needed to go. Pretty sweeet! Elder Primero and I just decided to take off our socks, roll
up our pants and tread through the black water. Adventure is out there!

We had a meeting at the mission office this week for Elder Primero since it is his first transfer in the Field. It was
good to get some advice from the other trainers, because God knows that I really do need it. Training is not easy,
but I have been blessed with the world's best trainee. Really he is training me. One the way back from the mission
office we got stuck in some really heavy traffic and heavy rain. We were carrying a big box of Book of Mormon's
which probably weighs a million pounds (give or take). Our trip back takes a couple different jeepney rides and a
UV Van ride. Usually it takes only 1.5 hours, but this time it took SIX HOURS! At one of our jeepney transfers, we
waiting in the line for the next jeepney for 3 hours. Meanwhile I am still carrying the box of Book of Mormons and
it is pouring rain. We ended up making friends with the people next to us in the line which made it a little more fun.
It was like waiting in long line for a roller coaster. When we finally got on a jeepney and to our next point it was
already way late and the next line was even longer. So we decided to hike from Monumento to Bayan. Just a
couple miles... With the big box of Book of Mormons... yeah my arms are still sore. Anyways we still made it back
safe and sound so we are thankful for that!

Baptism! Jazz's baptism was the happiest moments in my mission. There are been so many miracles, big and small,
that has led her to changing her life and coming unto Christ. It took almost five months for her to be baptized but the
time finally came. At the end she bore her testimony and I was holding back tears. This gospel has changed her life.
This gospel has changed my life. I know that if anyone wants to improve their life, this is the best way. God really does
work in mysterious ways. Us as missionaries really do very little. We hare not here to convert people. We are here to
preach the gospel by the spirit. The Holy Ghost is the only way to true conversion. I have not a doubt in my mind that
the Holy Ghost has touched the heart of Jazz and led to the waters of baptism.

I am loving this work and I feel so blessed to have so many great examples. One of these is Elder Peterson. He has
been such a great leader, missionary and friend to me. He is going home today and I hope to constantly apply his
advice to find opportunities everywhere I go. I cannot wait to see him again in 1.5 years at BYU!

Also we will be adding another companion to our companionship. Elder Leonora will be joining us tomorrow! I am
excited to learn from another very experienced missionary.

Have a great week and always be a better person than you were yesterday!
