Magulong Linggo! (Chaotic Week!)
Magandang hapon! Magulong Linggo (Chaotic week) here in Caloocan! So our zone has put on a special project. We have to completely clean the membership records and map every single member in our stake. They pretty much gave us one week to do this first step of visiting as many members as we can to find out the correct addresses of all that we could, and then create a Facebook activity with the ward's help to contact all the members in the list. Without going into too much detail, it is a super huge project. On top of that we had the opportunity to do another referral project that the whole mission is doing. Since we have two wards, these two projects were twice as hectic and I felt like my head was about to explode. On top of that we had two baptisms planned in two different wards on the same day. Magulo! We were truly running around our huge area. Plus on top of that we had double exchanges this week with the district leader and the zone leaders. The exchanges were nice with the Zone Leaders because even though it was pouring down rain and the floods were still high, there were so many trees! I miss the trees sometimes. Hectic week, but rewarding.
There really is no free time here in the mission. Every second needs to be dedicated to our investigators. We study in the mornings to address their concerns. We get 8 hours of sleep to be energized to help others come unto Christ. Literally everything we do is for them, and I love it! There is a quote by Gorden B Hinkley where he said, "Do you want to be happy? Forget yourself and go to work." I agree. I am probably the happiest that I have ever been. Even if at times I feel stressed, I am never distressed because I recognize my weaknesses and rely on the Lord. How great is this life?
Baptism! Albert entered into the waters of baptism this last week. He is such a solid guy! He was so ready and prepared by God to hear our message. Albert was shy to share his testimony after his baptism but I coaxed him into it and it was one of the most touching moments that I have ever had. Albert was definitely going down the wrong path in life before but realized that he needed to start a new life and dedicate it to God. The spirit was almost tangible.
Earlier today we went to Valenzuela to go fishing! It was so relaxing and rewarding when I caught a huge fish just using a stick and a hook. Even though we had to wake up wayyyy early, it was wayyy worth it!
Finally, HAPPY FATHERS DAY! Shout out to my father who has set such an amazing example for me. He truly understand the divine responsibility as a father and he will always be my role model. Being here in the Philippines has really brought us closer together even though we are further apart than ever before. My father is one of the happiest men you will ever meet! I hope everyone else had a wonderful Father's day.
Till next week!
