Heat, Rain, and Service!

This week really flew by. Let start off this email with mentioning the weather. I do not like complaining about the weather and stuff because honestly I usually enjoy it here so much but it has been EXTREMELY HOT here recently. Our house only had 3 fans, but 4 elders so I was left without an electric fan. Usually I am alright without one because if I have one on me all night I end up getting a cold, but our room is an oven. The heat comes in and does not go out.. I have not been sleeping well because I keep waking up when my bed is completely soaked in sweat, but I am starting to get used to it which is good. The other Elders in our house will not be there anymore starting tomorrow so I will get an electric fan again! Soon it will be rainy season which is exciting, especially here in Malabon and Navotas where it floods. I have yet to decide if I enjoy being drenched in my sweat or drenched in rain plus my sweat haha! On Tuesday, it actually just started pouring out of nowhere! Elder Primero and myself only had one umbrella to share so we ended up getting completely soaked. It was actually pretty fun because when I realized that keeping dry was impossible I decided to just accept the fact and join my recent converts who were playing in the rain. The weather is actually real fun here in the Philippines.

For this week only Elder Quilloy joined us in our companionship so we ended up having to cover four different wards this week. We mainly focused in the Malabon ward though because that has been the most progressing. At church this week we had eight investigators! Working with Elder Quilloy has been a real pleasure because he is a very diligent and experienced missionary. We just found out yesterday that he will actually be becoming our zone leader. I am excited to continue working with him.

This week was National Service week and since we had so many wards we got to do so many different service projects! Most of our service projects was cleaning different schools since they are all out of school right now. Luckily I have a years worth of experience being a custodian at schools. Service is a great way to express your love to God. As it says in the Book of Mormon, "If ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God." (Mosiah 2:17)

Sometimes planning for the area is difficult because sometimes I am not quite sure if this is the exact plan that God want for us, but it is amazing to see the hand of God in planning. Things just end up falling together! One thing that has really helped is Elder Primero's desire to be obedient and diligent. We are not perfect but we understand each other's weaknesses and work together to improve.

We live real close to a Mang Inasal. I love Mang Inasal. Unlimited rice, what more do I have to say?

One investigator that we have is named Albert. He is 18 years old and really wants to change and do the will of God. As we have been teaching him he has been slowly progressing but he is now getting ready for a baptism! He also shared his desire to go on a mission for himself.

There really are so many miracles in life, we just have to look for them. We have been focusing on the peace of Christ that we have the opportunity to feel as we repent and come unto Him. This gospel is truly beautiful. I really do love this mission, and since 2 years is really so short and limited I realized that I really need to improve as quickly as possible to better consecrate my time to God.

I love you all and thank you so much for all the emails and support! Have a great week!
