Gigantic Spider Attack and Mothers Day Calls

Hello everyone! Another splendid week here as a missionary. There are so many things that happen each week here in Caloocan and I just found out that I will be staying here for another two transfers because I am going to be a Tatay(father)! Not an actual father, but it just means that I will be training. I still feel so inexperienced in the mission but I guess the Lord is trusting me with this responsibility. I am excited for the opportunity to grow. I will be picking up my Anak (child) tomorrow. These next couple months will be amazing here. I am moving apartments, dropping Navotas ward, and staying in Malabon ward.

I will truly miss my companion Elder Lucana. He has taught me so much about humility and Christ-like love. Luckily we will still be in the same District so I can see him every week.

Elder Frandsen has finished his mission and is going home. He has become my best friend here in the mission and he will be truly missed. This week with our adventures we discovered this sweet park close by which is perfect for our exercise time. We also discovered a secret library! There are so many cool things in this area. 

Mother's day calls! Yesterday I got to call my family for the first time in 6 months. I love my family so much. 

At our house there was the BIGGEST SPIDER I HAVE EVER SEEN! It was literally the size of child. It was crawling around our laundry area and Elder Frandsen and I were freaking out. It moves lighting fast. However, Elder Lucana is from the jungle in Samar and it was no big deal for him. He goes in with a stick and starts attacking it. The spider lunges off the wall onto Elder Lucana and he did not even flinch. He brushed it off and killed it. Elder Lucana is a hero. Elder Lucana saved my life.

Loving the work here and I am so lucky to be here right now. I know that God has a plan for each and every one of us.
