"Every person is your superior in some way."
"Every person is your superior in some way."
This was the first week of every day exchanges and honestly it was one of the best weeks of my mission. I got to have a full day with these Elders to help them accomplish their goals in their mission and to have a personal ministry with each of these fine servants. The most amazing thing of these exchanges is that each time I learn something new. These missionaries teach me new things whether they are in the first month of their mission or whether they are about to go home. I love the quote that says "Every person is your superior in some way." Once you truly ponder this quote, the way you look at others changes as an opportunity to learn from the wisdom that that person has gained from their own personal life experiences.
From Elder Avancena I learned the importance of having a positive attitude with each challenge that is thrown your way. From Elder McAllister I learned the importance of practice teaching breif powerful messages to quickly acccess the heart of the people. From Elder Kauffman I learned how charity can influence the lives around us quicker than anything else. Finallly from Elder Lewis I learned how important it is to be enthusiastic about the work. Every day can hold learning opportunities if you are humble enough to open your heart.
Miracles are happening every day. Things are just seeming to come together. People are being prepared by God to talk with us as we guide them to come closer to Christ. This week we found 55 new people that want to learn more about the Gospel. Lives are changing. One amazing miracle this week was with Jonalyn. She told us that she could not wait any longer to get baptized and wanted to be baptized this week. Her wish was granted as she is getting ready for her baptism this upcoming Saturday along with the Magtangob familiy. I have never seen such enthusiasm such as Jonalyn. She reads the Book of Mormon every day as it guides her life. When we ask her about what she read she gives a detailed account of every little thing that happened. It is remarkable how the spirit as worked in her life. This is one of the few baptism that I have witnessed where the baptism came from just knocking on doors. God works in mysterious ways. Next week I will dedicate a whole email to the Magtangob family because of their huge impact in my life.
I hope that as we go around our daily lives we always look at the people around us as superiors to us in some way with an opportunity to learn from them. God loves all of his children equally so he gave a variety of skills to each. He trusts us to develop these talents with every passing second.
