Challenges & Miracles

So this has been a different week than normal. First of all, we found out my fracture on my foot is worse than first thought so I have to either get a cast or wear a boot for a month. I decided to get a boot so that I could still work. I pretty look like a cyborg preaching about Christ.. haha. I used to attract a lot of attention because I am tall and a foreigner, now I attract even more attention. At least it is a good conversation starter! Now on a more serious note, my companion has thyroid cancer. He should be alright, but we will be going to the hospital pretty often these next couple weeks. Physically we are having some trials, but we will not stop preaching the gospel or doing whatever we can to let this work move along. Honestly we are glad that he found out he had cancer while on the mission so that he has health insurance and can be in Quezon City where there is the best hospital in the Philippines. Please keep him in your prayers as he goes through this difficult time.

Even with the challenges there were still miracles that happened this week. Many new people that are being taught, and many new people preparing for baptism. Most of all, my cousin Sheena was baptized this week. President allowed me to go and participate in the baptism and I was supposed to be the baptizer. However on our way to the baptism a woman stopped us and asked us to be taught. We were surprised because that does not happen very often and I felt the impression to take the time to teach this family even though that would mean I would not make in on time for the baptism. The sacrifice was all worth it though because this family has been prepared by God. After we taught this family we went to the end of the baptism in order to congratulate my cousin. I am just glad Sheena got baptized because I have been fasting and praying for her for months. This was finally the time for her. God works in mysterious ways! Finally I am so excited to have the opportunity to video chat on P-days! The rules have changed where I can better communicate with my family every week. However, today the missionary email is broken so I cannot reply to any emails. Hopefully next week it will be back on! Have a great week y'all.
