A look back on my Companions

Alrighty I got my new companion Elder Quilloy! He is an amazing guy from Bicol that will be going home in December. I really love and look up to all my companions. So far each of my companions have been from different areas that speak different langues so it is interesting to see the differences in culture. Here is a recap of my companions for the last year:

Elder Buque from Surigao (Visaya speaking)
Elder Eleazar from Cavite (Tagalog Speaking)
Elder Lucana from Samar (Waray Speaking)
Elder Primero from Cuayaan (Ilocano Speaking)
Elder Leonora from Bocolod (Ilongo Speaking)
Elder Faulkner from Arizona (English Speaking)
Elder Quilloy from Bicol (Bicolano Speaking)

A great part of missionary work is being with your companion 24/7. I have learned so much from each of these missionaries. Since each of them were from different parts of the country, I have come to realize the diversity here in the Philippines. Each area has its own culture, attitude, and language. I used to think that all the Philippines just spoke Tagalog! Also all of these missionaries have been very experienced. By December, all of my previous companions will be out of the mission. What a great opportunity I have had to improve and accelerate my learning because of these wonderful people.

Elder Quilloy's strength is definitely in his teaching. He teaches with such power and clarity and I hope to develop this skill as we continue this transfer.

This week we also had MTC exchanges again. We had the opportunity to go out with brand new missionaries and help them out with their first real exposure to the Philippines. At times I feel like I have not changed too much in the mission. Then I look back on who I was when I was in the MTC and realize that the mission has been such a consecrated time of growth. I am starting to better understand the priorities in life and better see the hand of God in my life. There is so much left to learn and so little time.

That is all for this week, I love you all. Byyeee
