The True Adventure

I have many mixed emotions about leaving the mission field. I am excited to see my family and my future. I am sad to leave full-time missionary work here in the Philippines. There have been so many amazing experiences that I have had here. When I left for the mission, I named this blog "Elder Cadayong Philippines Adventure." Before, I did not truly grasp what a mission would entail. I was excited to share my testimony and to experience another culture for two years. If I could change the name of this blog, I would now change it to "Being a Part of God's Adventure." This was not my mission. This is God's mission that I was blessed to be a part of. The people that were helped during my time as a missionary did not happen because I was a persuasive teacher or because I was a spectacular missionary. This is His work and no unhallowed hand can stop the work. I feel blessed that I, an imperfect man with many weaknesses, was used as an instrument in His hands to perform His work and His mission. That is the true adventure. The true adventure did not occur because I was in a foreign country experiencing exotic food. The true adventure was seeing change and redemption in my life and in the lives of others. The true adventure was seeing miracles in people's lives that not only improved the quality of their life on Earth but opened up the gates to the Celestial Kingdom. The true adventure was my conversion.

I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church here on Earth today that has the power and authority to open the gates to the Kingdom of God through baptism and through the Temple. I know that God is the same yesterday, today and forever. If there were prophets in the Old days to guide these people, there must be a prophet in our days, whose name is Russel M. Nelson. The key to know the truth is through the Book of Mormon. I know that any person who reads with true intent and asks God will know that it is true. As one comes to know that this book is scripture they will know that change is possible AND necessary through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I have and will continue to invite all to COME! And follow our Savior Jesus Christ on this time of probation and testing. We all have much to learn and grow and that is Christ's invitation to the world. I leave this testimony, and this mission, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
