Temple trip, office work, community service and more missionary work!
Hey! It's been exactly a month since my last update email and so much has happened I don't even know where to start.
Our area is doing well though we have had not spent enough time finding. We are learning how to better manage our time to balance the office work and the area. We are still excited for our month to see what will happen. We are teaching high quality investigators, and that came through high quantity finding last transfer.
Let's start with the Barreto Family whom I love with all my heart. Last month when on splits with the young men in the ward we knocked on this door and the miracles started flowing. They are a family that wants to follow Jesus Christ but just did not know how. Our first lesson I testified of the power that family prayer has had in my life thanks to loving parents who tried having family scripture reading and prayer every night. Ever since this family has strived to read and pray as a family. However we found out the other week that they are getting kicked out of their house and they have no place to go. Seven children and no home. Elder Moore and I searched frantically for a house nearby and we could not find anything. For weeks their family has been searching for something in their price range and there was nothing. Finally one day we said we were not going to go home until we found an option for this family. We said a fervent prayer and miracles happened. We found not only one option, but three! With the help of our district we helped them move in this week. It's a miracle!
This week was zone conference which is a hectic but spirit filled week for us. We reviewed the learner judger mindset. In result of this, I want to be solution focused instead of problem focused. I want to have a growth mindset instead of a fixed mindset. As my competency increases, the inclination to have a judger mindset for others increases. I feel more capable than I ever have before so now I see myself judging others at times. When I was younger in the mission I felt very incompetent so the natural judger inside of myself would look in the mirror instead of at others. Being grateful is one of the most effective ways to switch from a judger to a learner.
We taught this zone conference about how to teach tailor fit lessons. I've made a goal in my mission to never teach the same lesson twice because each person, situation, and problems are unique. So the way we teach should be unique as well. I'm still not quite there but as we aim for this goal our teaching improves.
There are so many other things to talk about like our temple trip, the Parangao family, life lessons with President, San Miguel blitz etc. For the rest I guess you will just have to look at my pictures. Hope you all have a great week!
