Looks like I'm Staying!
Alright another week in the books! I thought I was going to be transferred but looks like I will be staying in Fairview with Elder Quilloy. This will be Elder Quilloy's last transfer which in mission terms means "He's dying," and the "I am killing him." I am glad I get the chance to absorb all that I can from Elder Quilloy. He has a lot of knowledge that he has learned over the last two years that can really help out this zone.
This week highlight was at our activity that we held at the church. We held an event called Ward Home Evening, which was pretty much like a family home evening for all our investigators. We played tons of games and had musical presentations and ate great food! It was a success and many investigators came to get a greater feel for the importance of family.
Sister Emma was baptized this last week! She has really made great changes in her life. Honestly the first time that we met her we felt that as an illiterate elderly woman, she would have a difficult time learning about the gospel. Slowly after months of teaching her and due to the convincing power of the Holy Ghost she felt a strong desire to enter into a covenant with the God and be baptized. We are grateful for her example.
We also got to go to this area in Bagong Silangan with the former bishop. Brother Espinosa is a great example to me and gave me so much advice for life. He is one of the most Christ-like people I have ever met. Also we got to see mountains for the first time in a while! We brought a football and tossed it around.
We have some huge ideas for changes in the zone this upcoming transfer because we know right now we are not hitting our potential. We are excited to see what effect it will have on the work.
