Masaya, masaya, masaya! ( Happy, happy, happy!)

Where do I start with this week? It is interesting being in the mission and experiencing so much every day and then trying to condense it all into one email. At the same time it is like looking back on a summer week and asking yourself, what even did I do all week? Here in the mission we work all week talking with as many people as we can to help them come unto Christ. One large step in searching for the truth is to simply, go to church. A lot of times we try our best but we understand that every person has their agency. However this week we had so many people come to church I could not help but feeling like I was walking on air. All my energy and time is going towards helping these people find more direction in life but we realize that we are imperfect, we must rely on God and the Holy Ghost.

Sister Romana, who has been investigating the church for almost two years, is preparing for her baptism this next week. I have never seen anyone so excited for a baptism. She has literally invited everyone in her entire barangay (kind of like a neighborhood). At this rate she will probably go on to invite the entire Philippines. Her passion for the gospel inspires me.

I am constantly inspired by the great people around me. There was one person that we met and we able to teach a little about the gospel named April. This lesson was probably the best lesson that I have ever had and the spirit was so strong she literally broke into tears multiple times in our lesson. However after the first lesson, we lost track of her. We went to her house and she was no where to be found. We searched at her relatives house and she still was not there. Finally last night we received a text that filled my heart with joy. She told us that she could not stop thinking about the message that we shared and that she actually had to go and travel back to her province for a month with her family. She contacted the missionaries in her province and has been going to church every week there. Sometimes as a missionary our efforts seem useless at times, but I know that no effort is wasted as long as we are trying our best, and we are on the Lord's errand.

Elder Primero, my trainee, has officially left for his real mission in Sacramento California. He has just been waiting for his visa for the past three months. I will truly miss him. He inspired me every day with his cheerful charisma and his quirky humor. I have never met someone who is so quick at learning and is filled with so much Christ-like love. Here in the mission your trainee is called your Anak (kid). However Elder Primero was more like my kapatid (brother). We did everything together. Watching him drive away to the airport felt like saying goodbye to family. He taught me so much every day and I know that he will do wonders in California.

This week was also Zone interviews. At this  interview we had to teach our mission president... It was honestly terrifying because he is such a knowledgeable and wise person. I felt like a toddler attempting to teach a Calculus professor how to take an integral of an equation. But overall, the teaching went well. Teaching in English was strange and I found myself struggling with English grammar.. However, I was grateful for his feedback.

There are so many other little things that have happened but time is limited. Hope you all have a fantabulous week!
